SEASON 6
“I should be further along.”
It’s one of the quietest, most common thoughts high performers carry.
Maybe the thought doesn’t sound so dramatic when it shows up. It might even sound responsible or honest.
However, in working with leaders from all walks of life, we find that underneath it, there’s often a quieter, more concerning question:
“What’s wrong with me that I’m not already there?”
In this episode of The Beyond High Performance Podcast, Amanda Jaggard, Co-Founder of MPI & Partner at Novus Global, sits down with David Miller, Chief Revenue Officer & Novus Global Executive Coach, and Mike Park, Novus Global Partner & Executive Coach, for a conversation about one of the most common hidden stories high performers tell themselves: the lingering belief that they are behind or not where they “should” be.
It’s not because they lack success or drive, but because they are measuring their present reality against a future that does not exist yet, or a comparison that is skewed.
And when high performers do this, the gap between “here” and “there” can start to feel like shame.
But what if this gap isn’t proof that you’re failing? What if it’s a powerful place to begin?
And perhaps most importantly, how to stop treating the space between where you are and where you want to be as evidence against you.
That space may be the invitation.
The gap is beautiful. The gap is opportunity. The gap is compelling you towards something.
